About
As a child, I was exposed to storytelling — oral histories and activism. My grandparents were Russian Jewish Immigrants who experienced a lot of prejudice and violence during the Pogrom era in Russia. They escaped, arrived in America through Ellis Island, and turned over a new leaf.
My parents were Civil Rights Activists in the 1960’s in Albany, NY and were heavily involved in politics and the War on Poverty. When I was a young child and a young adult, I worked with my parents in political campaigns and was told frequently by people that I was great in networking, getting conversations and ideas flowing, and being socially aware.
It all came together when I was a student at Florida Atlantic University where I archived a collection at the Florida Atlantic University Library – Special Collections. This collection comprised of over 35 years of South Florida Women’s Political History. Towards that end, I continued to write articles on diverse topics and became a published author in various publications. It was these experiences that inspired me to write, blog, wrote, and become a social media specialist.
